Karmen Muradas learned the stage early in Santiago de Cuba. By age 10, she was appearing on Cuban television as a presenter and singer, and by 15 she had a professional contract for the main show at the Carnavales de Santiago de Cuba. Her training stayed formal as the stages grew. She studied lyric singing, choral direction, and complementary piano at the Escuela de Música Lauro Fuentes, then moved to Colombia after first arriving there in 2012. Cali gave her a salsa milestone. In 2013 she became the first female singer to win the Festival Mundial de Salsa in the Ensemble category with Orquesta Salsa Masters, and in 2014 she won the same category again. After that second title, Luis Eduardo Hernández, known as El Mulato, hired her as lead singer for Swing Latino's El Mulato Cabaret in Colombia.
