Christian Alicea’s route into salsa did not run in a straight line. Before his wider tropical push, he briefly worked as a firefighter and first chased reggaeton in Medellín. The pull of his Puerto Rican roots brought him back toward salsa, while his team connected that background to a modern industry setup. On July 17, 2025, ROSTR reported that Alicea signed with peermusic for publishing. The same career snapshot listed Urales “DJ Buddha” Vargas as his manager, Rimas Entertainment as his release partner, and Loud And Live as his booking team.

Percussion came before the spotlight for Christian Alicea. He was born in Lares, Puerto Rico, into a musical family led in part by his father, José Bosque, a regional percussionist and leader of the tropical group Maiken. At home, Alicea grew up around salsa, merengue, bachata, bolero, and urban music. By age 10, he was taking his first musical steps with his father’s band, especially on percussion. At 14, his father put him in front of a wedding crowd to sing, and that family-stage moment became one of his first turns from musician’s son to performer.
